Campho-Phenique Cold Sore Treatment helps prevent secondary infection or spreading of an infection, to ultimately help promote healing. Maximum strength formula relieves pain and itching on contact. Start using at the first sign of a cold sore and before the scab. For temporary relief; stop use and see your doctor if symptoms persist for more than 7 days.

An antiseptic is a chemical which kills or inhibits the growth of micro-organisms. Some additional examples of antiseptics include antiseptic soap, iodine, betadine and hydrogen peroxide

Phenol temporarily inactivates the pain signals at the nerve endings in the skin, providing a local anesthetic or numbing effect. It also has antiseptic properties.

This ingredient is present to produce a pleasant odor.

These directions apply to adults and children 2 or older. For children under 2, consult your doctor before using.
